DawaGate Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 5 October, 2026
DawaGate respects the privacy of patients, healthcare professionals, healthcare providers, and other users of the DawaGate platform. This Privacy Policy explains how DawaGate may collect, use, store, process, and share personal and healthcare-related information when you use the DawaGate website, patient platform, healthcare services, or related digital services.
DawaGate is designed around an important privacy principle: access to patient information should be limited according to the user’s role and the information reasonably required to provide or support the relevant healthcare service.
A healthcare provider connected to DawaGate does not automatically receive access to your complete DawaGate patient profile or your entire health-record history.
1. Information We May Collect
Depending on the services you use, DawaGate may collect information including:
- Name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email address and contact information.
- Address, governorate and location information where required to arrange a service or delivery.
- Patient profile and relevant medical history.
- Chronic conditions, allergies, previous procedures or surgeries and current medications.
- Medical documents uploaded by you or made available through services provided using DawaGate.
- Consultation information.
- Prescriptions and medication-related information.
- Laboratory and radiology requests and available results or reports.
- Referrals and follow-up information.
- Appointment and service information.
- Payment and transaction-related information, where applicable.
- Communications with DawaGate and participating healthcare providers.
- Technical and security information associated with use of the platform.
We seek to collect and process information that is reasonably relevant to providing, administering, securing and improving DawaGate services.
2. How We Use Your Information
DawaGate may use your information to create and maintain your patient account and profile; facilitate consultations and healthcare services; connect you with appropriate healthcare providers; process prescriptions and diagnostic requests; arrange appointments, deliveries or home services; communicate service updates and notifications; maintain relevant healthcare records; support continuity of care; process payments where applicable; prevent misuse and protect platform security; comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements; and administer and improve the DawaGate platform.
3. Healthcare Providers Do Not Automatically See Your Full Health Record
DawaGate does not provide every healthcare provider with unrestricted access to your complete patient profile or health-record history.
Information made available through DawaGate should be limited according to the provider’s role, the healthcare service being performed, and the information reasonably required to perform that service.
For example:
| Provider | Information that may be made available |
|---|---|
| Doctor | Relevant patient profile, medical history, uploaded documents, medications, allergies, previous consultation information, diagnostic information and other information reasonably relevant to the consultation or care being provided. |
| Pharmacy | The prescription or medication request relevant to the pharmacy service, together with information required to identify the patient, communicate with the patient and, where applicable, arrange dispensing or delivery, such as name, telephone number and delivery address. |
| Laboratory | The laboratory request and information reasonably required to identify the patient, perform the requested tests, arrange the appointment or home collection where applicable, and return the results. |
| Radiology / Diagnostic Center | The relevant radiology or diagnostic request and information reasonably required to identify the patient, perform the requested examination and provide the resulting report or result. |
| Home Healthcare Provider | Information reasonably necessary to arrange and safely provide the specific home healthcare service, including relevant patient, contact, address, service and clinical information where required. |
| DawaGate Administration / Authorized Personnel | Information necessary for authorized operational, patient-support, verification, security, compliance, complaint-resolution and platform-administration purposes, subject to appropriate access controls. |
For example, a pharmacy receiving your prescription does not, merely because it participates in DawaGate, receive general access to your previous consultations, unrelated laboratory results, radiology reports or complete medical history.
Similarly, a laboratory receiving a laboratory request does not automatically receive access to your prescriptions, unrelated consultations or complete patient history.
Access may be broader where additional information is reasonably necessary for the requested healthcare service, where you authorize such access, where appropriate for care and permitted by applicable requirements, or where disclosure is required by law.
4. Doctors and Clinical Information
A doctor involved in your consultation may require broader access than a pharmacy or diagnostic provider because information concerning your medical history, medications, allergies, previous procedures, documents and previous healthcare interactions may be relevant to clinical assessment and patient safety.
The information available to a doctor should nevertheless relate to the legitimate provision of healthcare through DawaGate and be subject to applicable professional, privacy and confidentiality obligations.
5. Prescriptions, Laboratory Requests and Radiology Requests
Where a doctor creates a prescription, laboratory request, radiology request, referral or other healthcare instruction through DawaGate, relevant information may be transmitted to the healthcare provider selected or involved in fulfilling that request.
DawaGate aims to provide the receiving provider with the information required to perform the requested service rather than unrestricted access to the patient’s entire DawaGate record.
For example:
Doctor → Prescription → Pharmacy
The pharmacy receives information necessary to process and dispense the prescription and provide the associated service.
Doctor → Laboratory Request → Laboratory
The laboratory receives the requested tests and the patient/service information necessary to perform them.
Doctor → Radiology Request → Radiology Center
The radiology center receives the requested examination and relevant information necessary to provide that service.
Results and reports may subsequently become available through the patient’s DawaGate record and, where appropriate, to the healthcare professional involved in the patient’s care.
6. Your Health Record
Your DawaGate patient profile may develop over time as you use the platform. It may contain information from consultations, prescriptions, uploaded documents, laboratory and radiology requests/results, referrals and other healthcare interactions.
The existence of information in your DawaGate record does not mean that every provider participating in the DawaGate network can view all of that information.
Access should depend on the user’s role, authorization, the service being provided and applicable legal, professional and operational requirements.
7. Sharing of Personal Information
DawaGate may share relevant information with participating doctors, pharmacies, laboratories, radiology centers, home healthcare providers and other healthcare providers where necessary to facilitate services requested or authorized through DawaGate.
Information may also be processed by technology, hosting, communications, payment, security or other service providers acting in support of DawaGate, subject to appropriate contractual, confidentiality and security arrangements where applicable.
DawaGate may also disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, regulation, court order, competent authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect patients, users, DawaGate, healthcare providers or others.
DawaGate does not intend to sell patient medical records to healthcare providers, advertisers or other third parties.
8. Patient Choice and Authorization
Where applicable, DawaGate may ask for your consent or authorization before collecting, processing or sharing certain personal or healthcare information.
By requesting a healthcare service through DawaGate, you understand that information reasonably necessary to provide that service may need to be made available to the relevant healthcare professionals or providers.
For example, requesting a prescription to be fulfilled by a pharmacy necessarily requires relevant prescription and patient/service information to be provided to that pharmacy.
9. Data Security and Access Controls
DawaGate aims to use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal and healthcare information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss or misuse.
These measures may include authentication, role-based access controls, restricted administrative access, secure communications, logging and monitoring, backups and other security controls appropriate to the DawaGate platform.
No internet-based system can guarantee absolute security, and users should also protect their account credentials and promptly notify DawaGate of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Data Accuracy
Patients are encouraged to provide accurate and current information and to update their profiles when relevant information changes.
Healthcare information generated by doctors, laboratories, radiology centers, pharmacies or other healthcare providers remains subject to the professional responsibilities of the healthcare provider responsible for creating or providing that information.
11. Data Retention
DawaGate may retain personal and healthcare information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant services, maintain appropriate healthcare and transaction records, protect legitimate interests, resolve disputes, maintain security, and satisfy applicable legal, regulatory, professional or contractual requirements.
Different categories of information may be subject to different retention periods.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law and any lawful limitations relating to healthcare records, regulatory obligations or other requirements, you may have rights concerning your personal data, including rights to request information about its processing and, where applicable, request access, correction, updating, restriction or deletion.
Some healthcare information may need to be retained even after an account is closed where retention is required for legal, regulatory, professional, security or record-keeping purposes.
13. Children and Dependents
Where DawaGate services are used for a child, dependent or another person through an authorized parent, guardian or representative, additional information and authorization may be required.
Access to and processing of such information will be subject to applicable legal requirements and DawaGate’s relevant account and authorization procedures.
14. Cookies and Website Technologies
The DawaGate website and platform may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for website operation, authentication, security, language preferences, performance and other permitted purposes.
Where required, additional information or choices concerning cookies will be provided through the appropriate cookie notice or consent mechanism.
15. Third-Party Services
DawaGate may integrate with third-party services, healthcare providers, payment services, communications platforms or other systems necessary to provide particular functionality.
Where you leave DawaGate or interact directly with an independent third-party service, that party’s own privacy practices and terms may also apply.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
DawaGate may update this Privacy Policy as the platform, healthcare services, technology or applicable requirements evolve.
The current version will be published on the DawaGate website with its effective or last-updated date.
17. Contact DawaGate
For privacy questions, requests or concerns relating to your personal information, please contact DawaGate through the official contact details published on the DawaGate website (Contact-Us).
