(سيرترالين) Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and social anxiety disorder.
It works by increasing the levels of serotonin — a neurotransmitter responsible for mood balance — in the brain, thereby improving mood, reducing anxiety, and stabilizing emotional state.
Sertraline is one of the most widely prescribed antidepressants due to its favorable safety profile and low risk of sedation or dependence compared to older antidepressant classes.
